Wine Events Scotland has announced that all proceeds from its Fizz Feast Trade Preview will be donated to The Drinks Trust.
The event will take place on 27 November at the Edinburgh Academy, with the proceeds supporting the charity’s work, according to Wine Events Scotland.
Open to trade visitors, the evening session will be reserved exclusively for Scotland’s wine and hospitality professionals.
The preview will give industry professionals the chance to taste more than 75 sparkling wines, including Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, Crémant and English sparkling wine.
Featured brands include Taittinger’s Comtes de Champagne and Domaine Evremond, alongside wines from Argentina, Slovakia and Ukraine.
Confirmed exhibitors are Hatch Mansfield, North South Wines, Loch & Vine, Alexander Wines, Vino Wines and The Ukrainian Wine Company.
The announcement follows The Drinks Trust’s annual charity gala, which raised £92,000. As the charity marks its 140th anniversary, donations support its work providing practical, emotional and financial assistance to people working in the drinks industry.
Diana Thompson, founder of Wine Events Scotland, said: “Times have been really tough for so many people in our industry, and The Drinks Trust’s work is vital in supporting those who need it most.
“We’re expecting over 100 trade professionals on the night, and we wanted to give them a chance to taste the breadth of the sparkling wine category closer to home while also making it a way to give something back.”
Meanwhile, Nicky Burston, CEO of The Drinks Trust, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Diana Thompson and the entire Fizz Feast team for their generous support.
“Their commitment to giving back to colleagues across the drinks industry is truly commendable. Fizz Feast promises to be a fantastic event, and I encourage everyone in our industry to secure their tickets.”
